Bring Your Light Closer to Source
“Bring your light a little closer for the path can be weary at times.”
~ Quote and pic by A.Void.
When one has grown weary,
and the path has become
more like
being lost
in a dark tunnel,
remember the lantern
that is there
by your side,
reflecting
your own inner light
illuminating from within.
Seeking Light in the dark,
One has missed,
for that which is
cannot be denied—
cannot be otherwise.
Light from within,
it is so.
Remember
the flame of Truth,
for as high as One ascends,
as low One must go—
roots do grow in darkness.
Where there is a beginning
there is an end,
yet for the true seeker
All is
a continuous One.
🌙 Commentary for the Journeyer
(Tone, Symbolism, and the Inner Terrain)
This piece flickers with quiet knowing. It honors the fatigue that inevitably arises on the spiritual path—not as failure, but as invitation. The tone is gentle, intimate, reflective. It does not shout illumination—it whispers remembrance.
The central act of “bringing your light a little closer” is not an effort of will, but of tenderness. It acknowledges the soul’s weariness and responds not with discipline, but with intimacy. The light within is not something to be chased—it is already burning. Sometimes, it only needs to be noticed again.
Each visual and poetic symbol is intentionally layered:
The first lantern represents Source—the eternal light that is, always.
The second lantern, held by the figure, symbolizes the inner mirror of that Source: our own awareness reflecting divine essence.
The tunnel is not merely darkness—it is gestational, necessary. In its depths, the inner light is felt more clearly, precisely because the external lights have dimmed.
The moon, in crescent, reminds us the way is always partial. We are not meant to see everything at once.
The deeper paradox at play is that there is no such thing as light—not in separation from darkness. The two are not opposites, but expressions of the same whole. Just as roots require darkness to grow, the journey into shadow is not the opposite of awakening—it is awakening.
The poem does not offer resolution. It offers presence. And that is enough.
Let this be a pause in the long walk—a moment to hold your own light, not to see further ahead, but simply to remember that you carry it at all.
✨ Questions for the Journeyer
(For Introspection, Reflection & Meditation)
What is Source to you, and how does your inner light mirror it?
When was the last time you felt spiritually weary—and did you bring your light closer, or move further from it?
What truth are you resisting seeing in the dark? What gift could the darkness be holding?
Do you tend to chase light, or recognize it as already within you?
Is there a time you confused the Source for your own light—or forgot that both are One?
How might you walk the path differently if you embraced both ascent and descent?
In what ways are your roots growing right now—inward, down, unseen?
-
The first lantern is Source—unchanging, eternal, silently burning. The second, held in hand, is the reflected awareness of the seeker. We do not create light—we mirror it. The more we remember, the closer we draw to it, the more we resemble what we already are.
-
Yes. The tunnel is a metaphor-rich terrain—symbolizing the in-between spaces: detox from illusion, rebellion against falsehood, or sacred despair. It is the womb of becoming. Darkness, here, is not a mistake—it’s a rite of passage.
-
By ceasing to search outside. In darkness, the eyes no longer serve—one must feel. Seeking becomes sensing. Light is not guidance; it is presence.
-
Truth remains, regardless of belief. Denial is only a veil—not a destruction. Reality is not dependent on recognition. It simply is.
-
The essence of Being. That which animates, that which witnesses. Not your thoughts or moods—but your is-ness. It is not light as energy or visual clarity, but light as awareness.
-
It is the unburnable. The part of you that endures when all else falls away. It does not consume—it reveals. It is soft, persistent, and cannot be extinguished.
-
Because there is no “up” without “down.” Height and depth are the same thread. The deeper the root, the fuller the bloom.
-
Darkness is not the absence of light—it is part of light. Without shadow, there is no shape. Without descent, no ascent. We plumb the depths of Being to remember the full spectrum of awareness. What grows underground sustains what rises above.
-
Only to the mind. In truth, the seeker’s path has no beginning and no end. It is a spiral, a remembering. The idea of destination is a teaching device—eventually, even that dissolves. The pathless path is where the journey walks itself.
